"Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Taking care of your mind is a strength, not a weakness."

Hello

Helping others has always been part of who I am. I can trace it all the way back to 6th grade, when I gathered a group of girls after school to talk about a movie we had just watched—one of those classic “growing up” films about periods, puberty, and everything that comes with being a girl. Even then, I was the one helping others process their feelings, ask questions, and navigate the things that weren’t always easy to talk about. That’s my earliest memory of what would later become my life’s work: guiding individuals and families through life’s challenges with compassion, honesty, and support.

My Story

I’ve spent over 20 years in social services, dedicating my career to helping people find solutions and access the support they need. It all started in child welfare, where I investigated allegations of abuse and neglect, wrote case dispositions, and made recommendations for families in the system. I worked my way up from Investigator I to Investigator III, handling complex cases and advocating for families who needed a voice.

Wanting to do more, I decided to go back to school for my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. After earning my degree, I practiced psychotherapy in Arizona, specializing in trauma-focused therapy for children who had experienced sexual abuse. That work deepened my understanding of how trauma affects individuals and families, reinforcing my commitment to providing real, meaningful support.

Over the years, I’ve taken on many roles, including working as a court investigator, where I helped families navigate the complexities of divorce and custody disputes. My work involved assessing family dynamics, writing in-depth reports, and making recommendations to support parenting time and long-term family stability. I’ve spent countless hours in and out of courtrooms—writing reports, presenting findings, and meeting tight deadlines—while always keeping the focus on what mattered most: ensuring families got the support and guidance they needed to move forward.

Now, with HeyTonyaB.com, I bring all that experience together to help individuals and families find solutions, access resources, and move forward with clarity and confidence. I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel sometimes, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m here to help.
